Lamentations 2:3 "A Day of Mourning and Woe"
On Thanksgiving Day 2015, I heard the voice of the Lord say, Lamentations 2:3. I responded by screaming, "No!" Although I knew what this meant, I got up and grabbed my Bible and turned to this scripture. It reads "He hath cut off in His fierce anger all the horn of Israel: He hath drawn back His right hand from before the enemy, and He burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about." Afterwards, I read both chapters 2 and 3 of Lamentations and I cried because I understood exactly what God was saying.
You see, the book of Lamentation was written by Jeremiah who was also known as the weeping prophet. He wept profusely because God revealed to Him the judgment and destruction that was coming on Jerusalem, the beloved daughter of Zion. The word lamentations, itself means tears and wailing. To lament means to cry, weep, and mourn, so when God spoke this to meant, I responded by weeping. This book is often referred to as the book of woeful mourning.
Amos 3:7 states, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth His secret unto His servants, the prophets." God revealed to me what was about to happen in America. On Thanksgiving day, a day which Americans set aside to give thanks to God for His bountiful blessings, God pronounced judgment on our nation. Instead of God being pleased with our frivolous offer of thanks to Him, He sent this indictment against us. I believe the Lord is angry with America, and rightfully so.
In the past 8 years, America has blatantly rebelled against God. We have rejected the word of God and God has rejected us. America passed the partial-birth abortion bill and the same-sex marriage bill. Both these bills are in direct contrast to the word of God. God's word is very clear on homosexuality, stating "Thou shalt NOT lie with mankind, as with womankind. It is abomination." (Leviticus 18:22) When God gave The Ten Commandments, He also clearly stated, "Thou shalt NOT kill." (Exodus 20:13) In case you didn't know it, abortion is murder, but partial-birth abortion is the gross and wicked killing of the unborn. This procedure involves the violent and merciless, premeditated killing of children that are developing in the womb. Millions of babies have been aborted in America simply because of "inconvenience". The blood of the innocents cry out from the ground. There has been much bloodshed in our land and America's hands are stained with blood. God has declared "Enough is enough."
What we are seeing today in the news with all the recent violence and bloodbath is the result of the innocent bloodshed of the unborn. Murder begets murder, therefore, in exchange for the merciless and massive murder of the unborn, the spirit of murder has been unleashed in or land. "Whatsoever a man sows, he will reap." (Galatians 6:7)
"He has CUT OFF in His FIERCE anger." God has cut off America. Whenever we see this saying in scripture, death is always sure to follow. Anyone or anything that is not connected to the True Vine will surely die. America's death is imminent unless we REPENT now!
"He hath DRAWN BACK His right hand from before the enemy." God has removed His hand of protection from us. The only thing that kept America from being overtaken and overpowered is the mighty hand of God, but now God has removed His hand and we are left to our own devices. Let us be reminded of what the scripture says in John chapter 15:5-6, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, EXCEPT it abide in the vine, no more can ye except ye abide in Me. I AM the Vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, FOR WITHOUT ME YE CAN DO NOTHING. If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are BURNED."
"And He BURNED against Jacob like a flaming fire, which DEVOURETH round about." God's anger towards the United States burns like a flaming torch that will devour whatever is in its path. 'Our God is a consuming fire." (Hebrews 12:29) With one blast from God's nostrils, America can be completely and utterly destroyed, the same way He allowed destruction to com upon His beloved Jerusalem when they had sinned and rebelled against God. God is not to be trifled with. He has all power in His hands. He loved Israel as the apple of His eye, but He would not tolerate their wickedness and rebellion, therefore He allowed them to be plundered, captured and devoured in an instant. God allowed the Babylonians, a cruel and merciless people to destroy His beloved Jerusalem and take them into captivity for 70 years because of their wickedness. God deeply loved Israel and He failed not to punish them for their sins, therefore, how much more do we think God will not chastise America for our gross wickedness and rebellion.
Our only recourse is to REPENT. 2 Chronicles 7:14 declares, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and PRAY and seek my face, and TURN from their wicked ways, then I will HEAR from Heaven, and will FORGIVE their sin, and will HEAL their land." This is God's promise to His people. "He is FAITHFUL that promised." (Hebrews 10:23)
