The Good Way
The 2016 new year has begun and this is such an exciting time. When God released Noah and his family from the ark after the great flood He did so in "the first year, in the first month and on the first day of the month." He told them to "Go forth." Ha also instructed them to "bring forth" the animals that were on the ark. The He commanded them to "be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 8:13)
A similar thing happened after God brought the Children of Israel out of Israel through the Red Sea. He instituted the Passover and changed their calendar saying, "This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the first year to you." (Exodus 12:2)
Each time God was giving His people a new beginning. This is exactly what the Lord is speaking now. 2016 is a new beginning for God's people. This is an awesome time because despite our many past mistakes, God is allowing us this opportuntiy to get things right with Him. God is giving us a new beginning and all we have to do is listen, trust, and obey Him.
God has given me two important scriptures thaat support this, which will help us embrace this new season. The first verse deals with prayer. God wants us to seek Him for direction about everything through prayer. In this season, we must seek God like never before. If you want to be and do all that God has destined for you, you will have to pray diligently and consistently. A fervent prayer life is critical to this season. "Thus saith the Lord, STAND ye in the ways, (crossroads) and SEE and ASK for the old paths, which is the good way and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." (Jeremiah 6:16)
The second scripture deals with trusting God and being totally dependant on Him. In this season, we must rely on God completely in order to see the plan of Gd unfold in our lives. No more looking to man. Friends and family may mean well, but they do not have the answer. Only God. "I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord; plans to PROSPER you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a HOPE and a FUTURE." Jeremiah 29:11.
This requires being child-like, asking, trusting, believing, knowing, and then waiting. Have you ever watched a child reading a pop-up book? When a little child sees the pop-up, he or she is so surprised, amazed, and delighted. The child didn't know where the pop-up was, but the author of the book did, because he put them there. God said, "I am the author of the book. I wrote your story from the beginning to the end and I know where your blessings are. All you have to do is turn the page and continue reading the book. You will be suprised, blessed and amazingly delighted." Make only one plan for 2106 and that is to "Go forth" in God!!!
