Give God the Glory
The word teaches us to do everything for God's glory. states, "Whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God." (I Cor. 10:31) We must not be like the religious leaders of Jesus' day, who loved to be seen and heard looking pious and praying long and loud prayers to get the praises of men. No, everything we do, whether great ro small must be done to the glory of God, or else it's worthless.
Many people like to give so men can see and praise them for their good deed. If you give for that reason, you have given in vain. Some like to give to get. If you give for this reason, you're giving with selfish motives. God will not reward this kind of giving. Our giving should not even be known to others and we should give expecting nothing in return. Disappointment, hurt, and sometimes strife follows this kind of giving. Wrong motives, often get wrong results. To be honest with you, giving to get is a type of manipulation and control, which is rooted in witchcraft. All our giving should be done in secret, but God promised to reward us openly, when we do it His way. Then God gets the glory.
So whether you're giving, cooking, serving, helping, ministering, comforting, encouraging, spending, sacrificing, etc., do it all to bring glory and honor to God. "Let your light so shine before men they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven." (Matt. 5:16) Give God all the glory! He deserves it.
