I Belong to God

In 1994, God saved and delivered me from a horrible life. I was strung out on crack cocaine and had become a small time street prostitute to support my habit. I spent more than 15 years in and out of jails and prisons. I was raped repeatedly, beaten, and stabbed once and left for dead in an alley. But one day, I had a divine appointment with God and He gloriously saved me while I was in the basement laundry room of the county jail, folding sheets and towels. It was the best day of my life and without a doubt, Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me. As a new-born Christian, I had to learn a whole new way of living. One of the biggest things I learned was that I belong to God and that I could no longer do anything I wanted, particulary with my body. I read Romans 12:1-2, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Jesus lives in me so I must have a "clean house" for Him to dwell in. My heart, mind, body, and soul belong to God. The Lord saved me when I was at my lowest, deep in sin. I am obligated to present my body to God because it was the blood of Jesus, His only Son that redeemed me and set me free. I cannot do with my body as I please. I am not my own. God has said, "You are mine." (Isaiah 43:1) God is calling for those who are His, to live a life of sexual purity. Don't defile your temple. Surrender your body to God now.
